Following the annual tradition, Vietnam set up two booths at the fair. The handicraft counter named "Hand-made in Viet Nam" draws special attention from international guests, with various sophisticated items made of ceramic, lacquer, brocade, and silk reflecting the characteristics of Vietnamese culture.
Besides, the "Vietnamese Kitchen" booth, which served fried spring rolls, pork rolls, banh mi, and iced milk coffee, left a deep impression and got many positive reviews from fair attendees.
This year's Vietnamese booths receive President of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis and his wife for a visit. After trying traditional Vietnamese food, the President expressed his hope to visit Vietnam in the coming time to experience more of the country's culture and cuisine.
At the end of the event, Vietnam was one of the countries that contributed the most to the event organizers' charity fund.
The Permanent Mission of Vietnam has participated in the meaningful cultural diplomacy event to spread the beauty of the country and people of Vietnam to the international community and the diplomatic missions at the UN headquarters. In addition, it contributes to tightening the solidarity and connections among members of the Club for Spouses of Representatives of UN Member States and members of Vietnamese agencies in New York.
The UN International Bazaar is organized annually by the Club for Spouses of Representatives of UN Member States to promote exchanges, strengthening ties among member countries, and raising funds to support humanitarian activities and projects. The event’s organizers said that there were more than 1,000 event-goers to visit, buy souvenirs and enjoy food this year.
