At the meetings, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam extended his heartfelt wishes for a new year filled with good health, happiness, peace, and prosperity to the families. He expressed his hope that overseas Vietnamese would continue to support the nation's development in the new era.
The Ambassador emphasized the Party and State's recognition of the contributions made by the Vietnamese community in Laos during the past struggle for national liberation and unification, as well as in the current efforts for renovation and national defense.
He acknowledged the long-standing tradition and contributions of the association's leaders over the years. Despite their advanced age, many overseas Vietnamese remain dedicated to community work and always feel connected to their homeland. They have become important bridges, actively contributing to the strong relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
The Ambassador was moved by the resilience of overseas Vietnamese who continue to preserve their national cultural identity and language and maintain their connection to their homeland.
He also expressed gratitude to the current and former leaders of the association for their contributions to both Laos and Vietnam, their community work, and their role in fostering Vietnam-Laos relations. He hoped that these leaders would continue to unite and develop the Vietnamese community in Laos, as well as teach younger generations to preserve their language and cultural identity.
During his visit to Phat Tich Pagoda, the Ambassador extended New Year wishes to the volunteer teachers of Vietnamese. He expressed his appreciation for their dedication, many of whom are non-professional teachers but are deeply committed to their work.
The leaders and former leaders of the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos and the Association of Vietnamese in Vientiane thanked Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam for his concern. They affirmed their commitment to building a united community, complying with local laws, integrating actively, preserving the Vietnamese language and cultural identity, and contributing to the everlasting relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
