The Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently received the Excellent Embassy Award from UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Minister of Foreign Affairs Excellence Award.

In the reception speech, Ambassador of Vietnam to the UAE Nguyen Thanh Diep expressed his honor to receive the prestigious award on behalf of the Embassy. He affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to bilateral relations with the UAE. To further develop the relationship between the two countries in all fields, he asked for the continuing support from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan recalled good memories during his visit to Vietnam in June 2023. The Minister is pleased that in recent times, the friendly relations between the two countries have developed positively in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economics - trade, investment, tourism, and energy. He affirmed that the UAE always considers Vietnam an important partner in the Asia-Pacific region and highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE in promoting relations between the two countries.

More than 30 years of fruitful bilateral ties

Vietnam and the UAE celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2023 (August 1, 1993 - August 1, 2023)

Over the past 30 years, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE have increasingly developed in politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, labour and tourism. Political trust and mutual understanding between the two countries are constantly being strengthened. Economic cooperation is always an important pillar. The UAE is Vietnam's largest trade partner in the Middle East-North Africa region and also Vietnam's 7th largest export market.

Many areas of cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE have bright prospects, such as trade and investment, especially after the two countries started negotiations on the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The UAE side determined that CEPA will be one of three priority pillars from now until 2030 and the following period. The signed CEPA will be the largest, most comprehensive agreement of great significance and an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the UAE, opening a new phase in joint strategic cooperation on trade and investment between the two countries.

With good political relations, Vietnam and Turkey support each other at multilateral forums, cited Nhan Dan Online. Positive results in relations between Vietnam the UAE, lay important foundations for future cooperation in many fields.
