Vietnamese Lacquer Art Captivates Audiences in Paris

Representing the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Director Ma The Anh announced the opening of the Vietnamese lacquer art exhibition in Paris (France) on September 14. The exhibition showcased 40 prominent painters and artists who are currently active in researching and practicing Vietnamese lacquer art, Vietnamplus reported.
The lacquer paintings and sculptures displayed in the exhibition hold a special aesthetic value, with marvelous beauty hidden beneath the lacquer layer, which is both luxurious and sophisticated, representing the elegance of Vietnamese lacquer art, Ma The Anh said.

He believes the event will enhance the Vietnam-France strategic partnership, developing Vietnam's cultural industry and building the national brand for the cultural sector and fine arts. It will contribute to expanding cultural, artistic, and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and France.
This is an opportunity for art lovers in Paris to learn about the Vietnamese traditional painting art in general and the modern Vietnamese lacquer painting art in particular.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang also presented at the event. He believed that this special exhibition will show international friends a Vietnamese nation which is not only heroic in national defense but also developing strongly in all aspects, with talented artists.
Following the opening of the exhibition, a special concert was held to mark the 79th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam. The highlight was the string orchestra from Macedonia under the baton of Vietnamese conductor Le Phi Phi in combination with the national orchestra from the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre.
