According to Zhi Shan Foundation’s report, over 3,200 scholarships have been awarded to students in Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Hue, and other provinces under the overcoming hardship scholarship project. In addition to financial support, the organization closely monitors each student's academic progress, translating and sending hundreds of thank-you letters to "sponsor parents" in Taiwan (China). Thanks to this long-term companionship, it is expected that more than 100 students will graduate this year, many of whom have achieved good or excellent academic performance.

In the field of reading culture, the organization continues to inspire students’ desire to learn through activities such as “sharing good books,” gift-giving, monthly book-sharing sessions via Zoom, and especially the launch of the “Reading for the Future” initiative. More than 3,500 book bags have been prepared for the new school year, helping thousands of students in remote areas develop a reading habit and expand their knowledge.

The “Making friends with books” project has also yielded many positive outcomes. More than 297,000 students from 539 schools participated in reading activities. On average, each student read 61 books per year, with many reading over 250. Visits to libraries, book-sharing, storytelling, and journaling activities have significantly increased. The project has established 769 classroom bookcases, equipped friendly libraries, and implemented reading comprehension instruction in many schools. The playground initiative titled “Family - Where a child’s love for books begins” has helped spread the reading culture to every home.

At the Duc Son Social Protection Facility for children with special needs in Hue, Zhi Shan Foundation provides comprehensive support for 80 children in terms of nutrition, education, health, and recreation. Regular classes in English, yoga, and the arts are maintained. Simple meals with meat and small personal care kits have become a great source of encouragement for children without family care. At the Hue Social Work Center and Child Protection Fund, the organization supports tuition fees, school supplies, and nutrition for 21 orphans and disadvantaged children. Notably, with the Foundation’s support, malnutrition among these children has significantly improved.

The free orthopedic surgery project for children with disabilities has been actively continued in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, helping 60 children transform their appearance and improve their quality of life. These surgeries are accompanied by financial support, milk, essential supplies, and the constant presence of project staff to provide care and encouragement. Over the past 25 years, this project has given more than 3,300 children access to free surgery. In addition, the Foundation closely monitors post-operative outcomes and stands ready to offer further support if needed.

In the field of therapy, nearly 70 children with autism and developmental disorders are receiving intensive interventions at interaction-rehabilitation centers in Ha Tinh and Nghe An. These centers are fully supported with equipment, toys, children’s books, therapeutic approaches, and teacher training.

With a long-term vision, Zhi Shan Foundation has launched a project titled “Improving the quality of health and nutrition care for mothers and newborns in Hue.” This strategic step aims to expand the scope of support toward comprehensive care for children even before birth.

In the early childhood education support project, nearly 2,700 children in Dakrong District (Quang Tri) are receiving daily semi-boarding meals and milk, helping reduce malnutrition rates from 30% to 13%. Hundreds of children in Nghe An and Quang Ngai are receiving similar support. Especially, the Toy library model at 15 kindergartens and 238 classroom bookcases enables children to learn through play and develop their thinking, language, and personality from their earliest reading experiences.

Through close coordination with government agencies, trust from partners and donors, Zhi Shan Foundation has been implementing its child support programs effectively and sustainably. In the future, the organization hopes to continue receiving support from authorities, local partners, sponsors, and the community to expand its efforts and bring more opportunities for Vietnamese children to learn, grow holistically, and live in a safe and compassionate environment.

In recognition of its contributions over 30 years of supporting Vietnamese children, on January 15, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 114/QĐ-TTg to award a Certificate of Merit to Zhi Shan Foundation for its efforts in protecting, caring for, and educating disadvantaged children in six central provinces from 1995 to 2025.

Additionally, the organization has received 11 Certificates of Merit and Commendations from provincial leaders in Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, and Thua Thien Hue.
