On April 7, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Dong Nai province and the Vietnam-France Friendship Association of Dong Nai province organized a painting contest with the theme "Vietnam - France friendship." The contest is to celebrate the International Francophonie Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France.

According to Dr. Tran Minh Hung, President of the Vietnam - France Friendship Association, since the 2002-2003 school year, the French language program has been taught at 3 schools in Dong Nai province, which are Nguyen Du Primary School, Thong Nhat Secondary School and Tran Bien High School with nearly 300 students in the curriculum.

After 21 years, the teaching and learning of French has always been maintained, developed and achieved certain results. Many teachers have become the nucleus in teaching French in the province, and many students have grown up and used French as a tool on their successful career path.

Dr. Tran Minh Hung also mentioned that since its launch, through a selection round from schools, this year's contest has attracted nearly 200 participants. Through their imagination, students’ artworks will contribute to closer ties between Vietnam and France in general and Dong Nai and France in particular.

“We hope that, through the Consulate General and the Embassy of France in Vietnam, the French people will continue to support the Vietnamese people, especially in international and regional issues, as well as in the construction and development of the country and protection of national sovereignty of the sea and islands. We also hope French friends will be supporting the path that Vietnam has chosen.

It is emphasized that Vietnam has a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification, and multilateralization of foreign relations. Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community," said the Chairman of the Vietnam-France Friendship Association.
