On this occasion, the 3rd Engineer Team coordinated with the Working Group of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to organize the program "International Children's Day - Sharing love, lighting up smiles".
Hundreds of gifts were prepared, including sweets, toys, books, crayons... Also, the children can participate in making toys from recycled materials. Under the guidance of Vietnamese soldiers, the children turned old newspapers, plastic bottles, plastic bags, and cans into kites, spears, toy cars, boats, and animals.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Giang - Political Officer of the 3rd Engineer Team, shared that the team coordinated with the parish priest to invite some children to the Highway base.
"Learned to sing and make toys under the guidance of female soldiers, so that they continue to be a bridge to spread widely to the local community. Through the games, we want to send a message about friendship, about peace, and about a bright future for the children," said Le Hong Giang.
Lieutenant Colonel Eka Shinta - Head of the Civil Military Coordination Department of the UNISFA Mission stressed that the activities of the Vietnamese delegation for Abyei children are a very meaningful celebration of International Children's Day. They have contributed to promoting participation in community activities in the Abyei area.
For me, this is also a way to practice skills for the community, connecting sincere love from the community," said Eka Shinta.
One participant, Rebeca Garang, 12 years old, Grade 6, shared her excitement.
"I'm so happy! I was able to go to the Highway barracks last week, play games, eat candy, drink juice, and make many beautiful toys. I love the Vietnamese army very much!" she said.
Bino Osman - Pastor of the Catholic Church in the Abyei area - is touched by the regular support of the Vietnamese Blue Berets. He hopes we can work together to help children develop wholeheartedly here.
"Thank you [the Vietnamese Blue Beret] for coming here to contribute a lot to the church and the Abyei community," said the local pastor.
