American Volunteers Build Charity Houses in Quang Ngai

The Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ngai province recently organized an exchange and meeting with a group of American student volunteers. The event was held in Pho Chau commune (Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province).

The exchange took place with excitind activities, namely performances of traditional songs, music and dances from both countries.

This summer in Quang Ngai province, Putney Student Travel student volunteers will be in two groups. The first group of 19 American students participated in volunteer activities in Pho Chau commune from July 2 to 19. The second group of 17 students in Duc Chanh commune (Mo Duc) from July 7 to 24.

They will participate in building 6 charity houses for poor and disadvantaged households, including 3 houses in Duc Chanh commune (Mo Duc district) and 3 houses in Pho Chau commune (Duc Pho district).

Another part of the campagn is cultural and artistic exchanges and sport events. They will also meet with members of the Vietnam Youth Union and people of the localities, visit scenic spots and historical relics of Quang Ngai province to gain more understanding of this area.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of coordination between the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ngai province and Putney Student Travel to implement the international summer volunteer exchange program.

The program has left many good impressions on the hearts of Quang Ngai people, especially members of the Vietnam Youth Union and young people. It not only helps create cohesion but also provides houses for those in difficult circumstances so they can stabilize their lives.
