	Vietnam-China Youth Exchange: Continuing Spirit of Revolutionary Generation

The conference was organized as a meaningful activity to commemorate the 130th anniversary of Comrade Ho Tung Mau’s birth (June 15, 1896 - June 15, 2026).

The event was attended and chaired by Doan Minh Huan, Politburo Member and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, along with current and former leaders of central agencies, ministries, and sectors; leaders of Nghe An Province; scholars; historians; theoretical researchers; and educators from both within and outside the political system.

The conference was a meaningful political and scientific event aimed at honoring and paying tribute to Ho Tung Mau’s noble and distinguished revolutionary life, as well as his immense contributions to the struggle for national liberation and national development. It also sought to promote patriotism and revolutionary ideals among officials, Party members, and people from all walks of life, especially today’s younger generation.

In his opening remarks, Doan Minh Huan emphasized that, as the entire Party, military, and people strive to implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and continue promoting the study and application of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style, research into and a deeper understanding of Ho Tung Mau’s life and career carry particular importance.

According to Doan Minh Huan, the conference should focus on clarifying Ho Tung Mau’s role as an early-generation communist revolutionary who made important contributions to the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; a talented leader of the Party and State; a close and outstanding student and associate of President Ho Chi Minh; a shining example of revolutionary morality; and an exemplary son of Nghe An.

“Comrade Ho Tung Mau’s example possesses not only historical value but also profound contemporary significance for Party building, State building, and cadre work today. His life reminds us of the importance of steadfast ideals, preserving unity and solidarity within the Party, maintaining a people-centered approach, staying close to the people and serving their interests, strengthening practical organizational capabilities, upholding integrity and moral conduct, and fulfilling the responsibility to serve the nation and the people,” Doan Minh Huan stressed.

Speaking at the conference, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Khac Than affirmed that the event served as an important academic forum with profound theoretical and practical significance, contributing to a richer and deeper understanding of Ho Tung Mau’s life and revolutionary career.

According to Nguyen Khac Than, the documents and papers presented at the conference will serve as valuable historical resources for research, study, communication, and the promotion of patriotic traditions and national pride among future generations, particularly young people.

The Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also noted that, building on the legacy of the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, Comrade Ho Tung Mau, and other revolutionary predecessors, the Party organization, authorities, and people of Nghe An are striving to realize development goals in the new era through a spirit of innovation, self-reliance, and resilience.

The conference received nearly 50 scientific reports and papers from central and local agencies, research institutes, and universities across the country. The presentations focused on shedding light on Ho Tung Mau’s life, revolutionary career, and significant contributions to the cause of national liberation and national development.

Many papers affirmed that Ho Tung Mau was a close and trusted student and associate of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as an exemplary model of political courage, revolutionary morality, indomitable will, and a simple lifestyle closely connected with the people.

Participants also reached a consensus in affirming the core theoretical and practical values underlying the formation of Ho Tung Mau’s character and revolutionary ideals. The discussions further highlighted the special revolutionary relationship and deep bond between Ho Tung Mau and leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - President Ho Chi Minh, as well as his profound attachment to his native Nghe An. In doing so, they reaffirmed the historical significance and enduring contemporary relevance of Ho Tung Mau’s revolutionary life and career to the cause of national construction and defense in the current period.

In his concluding and closing remarks, Pham Tat Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, emphasized that the determination, aspiration for dedication, and legacy left behind by Ho Tung Mau constitute a powerful source of spiritual motivation for the entire Party and people to remain steadfast on the path of renewal and to further strengthen Party building and rectification.

According to Pham Tat Thang, the values embodied in Ho Tung Mau’s life and career should continue to be promoted through political and ideological education. They can contribute to efforts to combat the degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; prevent manifestations of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”; and encourage officials, Party members, and the public to uphold patriotism, self-reliance, resilience, and innovation, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

He called on the organizing agencies to coordinate with research institutions, media organizations, and the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to further strengthen public communication on Ho Tung Mau’s life, career, and significant contributions to the Vietnamese revolution. He also urged the prompt completion and publication of the conference proceedings to serve long-term research, educational, and communication purposes.
