The commemorative events deeply resonated with messages of independence, freedom, peace, and friendship to the world; stirred profound emotions and pride among citizens, officials, and soldiers nationwide; and ignited a powerful wave of patriotism. The everlasting spirit of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 continues to serve as a vital driving force for the Vietnamese nation to advance firmly in the new era of development, writing new glorious chapters in the country’s history.
In particular, the National Celebration, Parade, and March at Ba Dinh Square were held with utmost solemnity, featuring many innovations and the largest scale ever. The event was attended by current and former Party and State leaders, 500 international delegates, numerous domestic representatives, and over 6,500 national contributors, along with nearly 30,000 officers, soldiers, youth union members, overseas Vietnamese, and citizens participating directly at Ba Dinh Square.
For its part, Hanoi took proactive and comprehensive measures to ensure all logistical and infrastructural conditions, such as expanding grandstands as delegate numbers increased, installing sound systems, decorative designs, and stage setups, and arranging hundreds of LED screens, public address systems, shuttle buses, portable restrooms, and volunteer support teams. These efforts enabled residents of the capital and other provinces to fully join the great national festival atmosphere. Security and order were maintained at the highest and most decisive level, ensuring absolute safety for the celebration.
Social activities and movements for socio-economic development were also vigorously promoted, such as tourism stimulation campaigns and national emulation drives, notably the movement “Joining Hands to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing Nationwide in 2025”, which mobilized participation from the entire political system and all social strata.
The Central Commission for Information and Mass Mobilization actively directed and oriented communication efforts across media agencies and press outlets, as well as Steering Committee 35’s network at all levels. Between August 15 and September 2, 2025, nearly 100,000 communication channels and social media accounts participated, posting around 50,000 news pieces, articles, and generating millions of interactions, comments, and shares. Nearly 200 pieces of misinformation or distorted content about the celebration were detected and handled in coordination with relevant authorities.
Across localities, commemorative activities were implemented with diverse, engaging, and innovative forms that closely connected with the people.
Speaking at the conference, delegates affirmed that the success of A80 activities was not only the result of meticulous preparation and professional organization but also a vivid demonstration of national solidarity and effective coordination among different levels, sectors, and localities. They emphasized that the key factors behind this success were a strong sense of responsibility, proactive and determined engagement from an early stage, and close, flexible, and creative coordination, always ready with contingency plans for any arising circumstances.
Through these efforts, A80 left a profound impression on the hearts of the people, reinforcing national confidence, pride, and the shared aspiration for a prosperous and happy Vietnam.
Promoting communication efforts to spread spirit of patriotism and aspiration for development

Reviewing the key achievements, Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu affirmed that the commemorative activities, particularly the main events such as the national celebration, parade, scientific symposiums, meetings of Party and State leaders with veteran revolutionaries and national contributors, and activities to improve people’s living conditions, had been directed and organized solemnly, meaningfully, and with absolute safety, befitting the scale and historic importance of the occasion.
He noted that the event had attracted great attention and enthusiastic participation from people of all walks of life, creating widespread resonance both domestically and internationally, and truly becoming a grand festival of the Vietnamese nation.
Each program and activity demonstrated innovation and creativity in both thinking and implementation, harmoniously combining tradition with modernity. Through these efforts, the A80 celebrations strongly rekindled patriotism, evoked profound emotions of pride and national dignity, and nurtured the spirit of self-reliance and resilience. They also contributed to educating revolutionary traditions and spreading cultural and historical values among the people, especially among today’s younger generations.
The communication campaign surrounding the commemoration was implemented in a rich and diverse manner, genuinely oriented toward the people and local communities. This ensured that citizens could actively participate and share in the event, turning it into a profound political and ideological movement within the entire Party and society.
Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu praised the agencies assigned to lead and coordinate the core activities for demonstrating a high sense of responsibility, proactivity, and creativity, and for excellently fulfilling their duties. He also recognized the meticulous and synchronized efforts of the agencies and localities responsible for protocol, logistics, technical support, healthcare, and security. These bodies had maintained close, timely, and regular coordination from the central to local levels, ensuring the absolute success and safety of all commemorative events.
He extended particular appreciation to the units participating in the parade, who overcame many challenges through diligent and disciplined training and rehearsal, thereby contributing significantly to the overall success of the A80 celebrations.
From the success of these events, the Permanent Member of the Secretariat emphasized the need to further strengthen communication and education on patriotism and the revolutionary, historical, and cultural traditions of the Party and the nation. This would help consolidate public trust in the Party and the State, promote the strength of great national unity in harmony with the power of the times, and foster the spirit of self-reliance, determination, and the aspiration to contribute to national development in the new era. These efforts, he stressed, would also serve as a source of encouragement and motivation for the entire Party, armed forces, and people to successfully organize the 14th National Party Congress.
He called for building on the results and lessons learned from recent commemorative activities to further improve the organization of major national anniversaries and historical events in the coming years. These should be politically and ideologically sound, steadfast in principles, with profound content and diverse, creative forms that reach deeply into society, especially the younger generation.
He also urged continued innovation in thinking, enhanced quality in advisory and coordination work among all levels and sectors, and closer linkage between commemorative communication efforts and the tasks of Party building, political system strengthening, socio-economic development, national defense and security assurance, as well as external relations and international integration.
Regarding key tasks in the near future, he assigned the Central Commission for Information and Mass Mobilization to take the lead, in coordination with relevant agencies, in preparing conditions for the Conference summarizing the organization of major national anniversaries and historical events during 2023-2025. He also requested the timely development and completion of the proposal for organizing major national anniversaries and significant historical events for the 2026-2030 period, to be submitted to the Politburo and Secretariat for consideration.
He emphasized that each major celebration and historical event must be thoroughly reviewed and organized at the appropriate scale and significance in accordance with regulations, featuring new, creative, practical, and effective elements that are people-centered. Every commemorative activity, he concluded, must contribute to strengthening the great national unity bloc, reinforcing public trust, mobilizing resources, and creating new momentum for the cause of national construction and defense.
In implementing the guidance of the Standing Board of the Central Steering Committee for the Commemoration of Major National Anniversaries and Historic Events for the 2023-2025 period, and the direction of the Standing Board of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) took the lead in welcoming international delegations attending the Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). VUFO also chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to organize a Meeting of Appreciation for International Friends, hosted by leaders of the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The program took place from August 31 to September 3, featuring a series of activities including: welcoming international delegations to attend the National Celebration; organizing the Meeting of Appreciation for International Friends; visiting the Vietnam National Museum of History; working visits to Quang Ninh Province; a tour of Ha Long Bay; and 25 bilateral meetings. VUFO hosted more than 30 delegations with 82 international delegates from 25 countries and territories, comprising distinguished individuals and representatives of people’s organizations, friendship associations, non-governmental organizations, long-standing friends, and traditional partners of VUFO. These international friends have made significant contributions to Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as to the country’s protection, construction, and development efforts. The Meeting of Appreciation for International Friends was solemnly held under the chairmanship of Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien. Co-chairing the meeting were Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, and President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son. The meeting brought together over 200 participants, including around 120 international delegates and 100 Vietnamese representatives from central agencies, the Hanoi municipal government, and the media. The event deeply expressed the gratitude of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam toward international friends, reaffirming the message of a benevolent, faithful, and peace-loving Vietnam - a reliable partner and responsible member of the international community. International friends expressed their profound emotions and honor at being part of such a significant national celebration. They voiced their admiration for Vietnam’s remarkable development and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing solidarity and support for Vietnam’s ongoing cause of national construction and development. Many delegates also sent letters of congratulations and appreciation to VUFO for its warm hospitality and the successful organization of this meaningful series of events. |
