Hanoi Pride 2018: Thousands to join LGBT Parade & Festival in Hanoi
Following the Hanoi Pride Week from September 17 to 22, the Hanoi Pride Festival 2018 will take place on November 11 under the theme “Love, Hanoi” on November 11 for the local lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community.

The event, set to last from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will feature a variety of activities like bike rally, parade, live music, fair and community activities.
Stepping into Hanoi Pride, love is the first thing everyone notices. No one hides their smiles. Gazes are full of encouragement. And Hugs are given without hesitation. These affections urge us to realize our humanities mission from the first days of inception: to erase prejudices and discrimination against the LGBTQ community in Vietnam, to create a safe space, and to celebrate difference, courage, compassion, respect, and love.
With over 7 million residents, Hanoi is home to million faces and loves of all colors. Hanoi Pride 2018 hopes to celebrate this persity of love.
The event is expected to contribute to erasing prejudices and discrimination against the LGBTQ community in Vietnam.
The American Club is a community recreation center run by the American Community Association Hanoi, the employee association of the U.S. Embassy. The club offers a beautiful open outdoor space in Hoan Kiem District and has hosted a number of cultural activities for the local community.
The schedule will be as follow:
1. Bike Rally:
1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.| Nam Cao street – American Club (No. 19-21, Hai Ba Trung street);
2. Walking Parade
4:00 p.m.– 5:30 p.m.| American Club (No. 19-21, Hai Ba Trung street) – The pedestrian zone;
3. Pride Festival
2:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. | American Club (No. 19-21, Hai Ba Trung street).
