Happy Streets Festival 2025 in London: Vietnamese Cultural Identity Shines

As the closing performance of the first day, the Vietnamese delegation brought a program combining music, fashion, and cultural exchange. It also included "Audience Interaction - Vietnamese Cultural Quiz". The audience was engaged with the simple yet interesting questions such as "What is the capital of Vietnam?", "How famous is Pho?", "What is the traditional costume of Vietnamese women?".
The last to take the stage was the Love Collection, founded by 15-year-old fashion designer Anna Hoang. Born and raised in the Wandsworth district, the teen fashion designer combined folk materials with modern shapes in the collection, showcasing with the elegant walk of Vietnamese models. Singer Tran Vo Minh Triet's beautiful voice is intertwined to bring an emotional stage.
"I guessed correctly about the Lunar New Year. I was very excited when the gift was a hand-painted hat! It's beautiful and special!", Laura (an audience member from Bristol) shared.

Rose Thompson, a retired teacher at Wandsworth, shared that this is her first time seeing an Ao Dai show in real life. “The colors, textures and movement are very beautiful and elegant,” said Rose.
Another Wandsworth resident, Peter Thomas, revealed that his daughter was very fond of the 'Bac Bling' dance. “She said she wanted to learn Vietnamese dance!" said Peter Thomas.

According to Agata Zmijewska, coordinator of the Happy Streets Festival, the Vietnamese delegation was impressive due to the professionalism and creativity in their performance, especially in the spirit of connecting the community through meaningful, interactive activities.
“I hope to continue to accompany them in the next festivals,” said Agata.
The leader of the delegation, Founder of the Vietnam Association of Women and Children in the UK, Hoang Ha shared that it was a great honor to be warmly received by the audience.
"We not only perform but also want to share a part of the soul of Vietnamese culture – from the leaf hat to the singing, dancing and ao dai,” said Hoang Ha.
