On March 30, in Sakai City, Osaka (Japan), under the sponsorship of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, the Vietnam-Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association hosted the 'Vietnam Cultural Festival 2025.

In his opening speech, Ngo Trinh Ha, the Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka, highlighted the significance of 2025 as a landmark year for the Vietnamese people, commemorating major national milestones including the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945).

Against this backdrop, the 2025 Vietnam Cultural Festival in Osaka acts as a valuable opportunity to preserve and promote Vietnamese culture, while serving as a bridge to bring Vietnam's vibrant image and warm-hearted people closer to its Japanese friends.

Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha expressed that the festival creates an ideal occasion for the Vietnamese community in Osaka, and across Japan, to gather, exchange ideas, strengthen solidarity, and support one another in their journey toward integrating with Japanese society.

He further emphasized the active role of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association, which not only fosters economic relations between the two nations but also engages in community-focused initiatives. These include preserving the Vietnamese language, promoting Vietnamese culture through programs like the establishment of a Vietnamese Studies Center, organizing Vietnamese language classes, and hosting cultural events such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, Vietnamese Cultural Day, and the heartfelt and impactful Vietnamese Cultural Festival in Osaka.

Le Thuong, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Kansai, said that the 2025 Vietnam Cultural Festival program features unique and meaningful activities, including the 8th reenactment of the Hung Kings' Death Anniversary in Osaka, the Vietnam map formation performance with hundreds of participants, traditional costume performances, art programs with renowned artists, spaces dedicated to promoting Vietnamese products, culinary showcases, and folk games.

Vu Hoang Duc, Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association, which organized the event, emphasized the Association's commitment to enhancing the image and culture of Vietnam—not only for the Japanese people but also for international audiences.

Speaking on behalf of the Mayor of Sakai City, Yamasaki Hisaki, Director of the Sakai City Department of Culture and Tourism, warmly welcomed the 2025 Vietnam Cultural Festival in Osaka. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, as well as the associations and overseas Vietnamese communities in Japan, for their invaluable contributions to this cultural celebration.

Yamasaki Hisaki noted the growing collaboration between Sakai City and Vietnam since the twinning relationship with Da Nang City was established in February 2019. He highlighted the expansion of this partnership across various fields and conveyed his hope that the 2025 Vietnam Cultural Festival in Osaka would provide Japanese people with deeper insights into Vietnam's rich culture and charm. He believes the festival will further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Sakai City and Vietnam and between the two nations as a whole.

Nguyen Thi Huong, a volunteer at the 2025 Vietnam Cultural Festival in Osaka, shared her pride in contributing to the event. She said that the map formation symbolizes not only the affirmation of Vietnam's sovereignty but also the deep connection and heartfelt sentiment of the Vietnamese community in the Kansai region towards their homeland.

The festival also featured vibrant performances, including the showcase of 100 Ao Dai and checkered scarves, along with captivating music and dance performances.
