President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Do Thi Thu Thao received the donation and expressed gratitude to the Government and people of the Czech Republic for their timely support to affected communities. She noted that the Vietnam Red Cross has activated its emergency response system, delivering essential relief items and livelihood assistance to residents in central Vietnam. The Czech Republic’s contribution, she said, carries not only material value but also serves as a symbol of international friendship and solidarity.

The Vietnam Red Cross Society reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all resources are distributed accurately, promptly, and to the right beneficiaries, and expressed its hope for continued cooperation with the Czech Senate, moving toward establishing a sisterhood relationship between the two organizations.

Senate President Miloš Vystrčil emphasized that mutual support is the foundation of friendship between nations. He noted that the greatest value of the donation lies in the commitment to stand with Vietnam as natural disasters intensify due to climate change.

On November 19, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), in coordination with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the People’s Committee of Hoa An Commune (Cao Bang Province), delivered emergency assistance to 410 households affected by Storm Bualoi (Storm No. 10) and Storm Matmo (Storm No. 11). The total direct support amounted to nearly VND 1.56 billion.

The aid is part of an emergency relief program worth more than VND 1.8 billion, providing multi-purpose cash assistance to help households in Hoa An address food insecurity, income loss, and damage to homes and crops. Beneficiary households receive VND 2.4 million per month for households with up to two members and VND 4 million per month for those with three or more members.

Earlier, on November 14, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention, in cooperation with Save the Children and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh Province, provided VND 500 million in assistance to 104 households with children in Thach Khe and Dong Tien communes. Each household received between VND 3 million and 7 million depending on the level of damage, helping them repair their homes and stabilize daily life so that children can return to school as soon as possible.
