Mu Cang Chai is located in the Yen Bai Province of Vietnam in the northwest region, nestled in the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range. Its attractions include the stunning rice terraces that spread across the rolling hills.

When the rice terraces are at their peak, visitors may enjoy the terraces' vivid golden colors throughout the harvest season. The springtime is also ideal to going visit the flowers in full bloom.

Traveling by motorbikes is encouraged. It enables you to drive at your own speed and take in the surrounding scenery. The trip takes around 7-8 hours and gives spectacular views of the mountains and countryside.

There are also tourist buses from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai. There are several local sleeper buses operating, such as Khanh Thuy, Thao Nguyen, and Cuong Lan. These buses depart from My Dinh, Giap Bat, and Gia Lam Bus Stations in Hanoi and arrive at the center of Mu Cang Chai Town.

The journey takes about 7.5 hours, and the ticket price is approximately VND 250,000 each (about US$10). Once in Mu Cang Chai, you can rent a motorbike to explore the area.
