Natural beauty in northern highland area
Coming to Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district, the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, tourists cannot only enjoy the poetic scenery of the forests and mountains, and drink thousand year old tea but also experience the peaceful life of highland people.
It is home to 4 groups, including H’Mong, Kinh, Dao and Tay, of which, the H’Mong account for over 98% of the community.

H’Mong ethnic minority people preserve their own cultural and traditional characteristics. In the picture, villagers gather to help to build a family house.
As H’Mong ethnic minorities live on the side of high mountains, their houses are designed to suit the complex geology, environment and harsh climate.

The life is simple but full of love.
|
After school, children play on trees around their houses.
|
Flowers signal coming spring.
|
Coming to the land, tourists have a chance to enjoy tea from ancient trees.
|
The commune is famous for tea trees, some hundreds of years old with diameters of up to 100 centimeters. The trees develop naturally in cool weather all the year round; therefore, despite no care, they grow very fast.
|
The ancient tea area lies in Giang Cao, Giang B, Pang Cang, Tap Lang I, Tap Lang II and Suoi Lop villages.
Tourists can also visit tea hills in lower area and join local residents’ lives in the foot of the mountains.
With pure climate and natural scenery, Suoi Giang commune has become an interesting destination for tourists, especially in spring.
