The 14th National Party Congress convened its preparatory session at the National Convention Centre in Ha Noi on the morning of January 19.
Tran Thanh Man, Politburo Member and Chairman of the National Assembly, presided over the preparatory session.
The Congress voted with strong consensus to approve the agenda of the preparatory session, the working regulations of the Congress, the overall working programme of the Congress, and the election regulations for the 14th National Party Congress.
The Congress elected a Presidium comprising 16 Politburo members. It also elected a Secretariat of five members and a Delegation Credentials Verification Committee consisting of 13 members.
The Congress further voted with high unanimity to approve the report on the verification of delegates’ credentials, presented by the Delegation Credentials Verification Committee. Accordingly, all 1,586 delegates convened were confirmed as fully qualified to attend the Congress.
