On September 30, Good Neighbors International (GNI), in coordination with the KSFC Dream Sharing Foundation, held a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over the KSFC Dreams and Hopes Library at Kim Xuyen High School.
The facility was built as part of the project “Enhancing Skills and Career Orientation for Students at Kim Xuyen High School, Tuyen Quang Province”, with the aim of improving the learning environment and creating additional opportunities for students to develop skills, explore career options and discover their own abilities.
Kim Xuyen High School currently has more than 1,500 students, nearly 30% of whom are from ethnic minority groups. Before the project was implemented, the school library covered approximately 60 square metres and had around 3,000 books, mainly textbooks and reference materials. During the 2024-2025 academic year, the library recorded 2,625 visits by students and teachers.
The project was implemented in 2026 with a total budget of US$108,000, targeting 1,500 direct beneficiaries, including students and teachers at the school.

Teachers have also received training on library management and the organisation of skills development and career guidance activities for students.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, GNI Vietnam Country Representative Cho Eun Seung said the library is not only a place for reading but also a space where students can discover new things and find their own dreams.
“I hope that through books and stories, the library will be a place where students can step out into the wider world, discover what they like and what they are good at. Each book gives rise to a new way of thinking, and every experience, however small, can be enough to change a person’s future,” he said.

Nguyen Quang Trung, Principal of Kim Xuyen High School, said that for many years, the school’s teachers and students had hoped for a suitable space for reading, learning, creativity and experiential activities. Since its opening, the library will serve not only for reading and borrowing books but also as a space for STEAM activities, experiential learning, career guidance, career-oriented training programmes, and the school’s Reading Day and Career Guidance Day.
“We hope that every student who comes here will find not only a book, but also an idea, a passion, a career and a direction for the future,” Nguyen Quang Trung said.
At the inauguration ceremony, students took part in four activity corners: Reading and Reflection; Reading and Career Guidance; Reading and Creativity with Recycled Materials; and Reading and Experiments.
Through these activities, students have more opportunities to engage with books in a more proactive way, while exploring their interests, abilities and potential career fields that may suit them.
In the coming period, the library will continue to be used for reading, skills-based experiential learning, career guidance activities and Career Guidance Day for students.
| The KSFC Dream Sharing Foundation previously worked with students in Tuyen Quang through the Green School project implemented at Dong Loi Campus of Truong Sinh Secondary School in 2023. Under the project, the foundation supported the construction of a library and toilets, contributing to improved learning conditions and extracurricular activities for students. At Kim Xuyen High School, in addition to investing in a learning space, the project also implements skills development and career guidance activities for students. |
By August 13, the forces involved had searched for and recovered the remains of 1,715 fallen soldiers, achieving 24.5% of the target. Of these, 691 sets of remains were recovered domestically, 174 in Laos, and 850 in Cambodia. |
More than 10,000 T-shirts and warm jackets, along with over 4,000 backpacks, have been distributed to children sponsored by Plan International Viet Nam in Tuyen Quang Province ahead of the new school year. |
