On May 23, the People’s Committee of An Hai Ward, in coordination with the Hai Phong Center for Friendship Cooperation (under the Hai Phong Union of Friendship Organizations), organized a ceremony to present 50 wheelchairs to disadvantaged persons with disabilities in the locality. The program received sponsorship from Giving It Back To Kids and Free Wheelchair Mission (United States).
At the event, representatives of the coordinating units provided guidance on the safe use of wheelchairs and introduced features that support daily living activities.
Do Thi Hai Yen, Director of the Hai Phong Center for Friendship Cooperation, said that the wheelchairs would help persons with disabilities travel more conveniently in their daily lives and increase opportunities for community integration.
