The value of the scholarships was allocated according to educational level: primary school students received VND 1.5 million per scholarship; lower secondary school students received VND 2.5 million; and upper secondary school students received VND 3 million. For university students, the scholarships ranged from VND 6 million to VND 52 million per student, depending on individual circumstances and academic performance.
This meaningful activity aims to encourage and motivate disadvantaged students to overcome difficulties and strive for academic success. It also reflects the attention and support of organizations, institutions, and the broader community toward educational promotion efforts, helping to spread compassion and empower the younger generation on their path of study and career development.
At the program, representatives of the organizing committee stated that in the coming time, educational support activities and care for disadvantaged students will continue to be maintained and expanded, thereby contributing to ensuring social welfare and developing high-quality human resources for the locality.
Since June 2016, Tzu Chi has implemented a wide range of practical humanitarian and charitable programs, including scholarships, Lunar New Year gifts, living expense support, and disaster relief. The organization has assisted more than 134,900 disadvantaged households, provided nearly 24,000 educational support grants, built 50 charity houses, and conducted 44,821 free medical examinations and treatments, with a total budget exceeding USD 10 million (equivalent to VND 262 billion).
Notably, Tzu Chi has carried out timely relief activities, delivering tens of thousands of aid packages to provinces in central and northern Vietnam during floods and storms (including Ha Tinh, Hoa Binh, Quang Binh, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai). In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Tzu Chi not only supported more than 16,000 disadvantaged households but also donated medical equipment, ventilators, and oxygen generators to frontline hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.
