Vietnam Education Publishing House to Publish Classic Chilean Children Stories

The Vietnam Education Publishing House há signed a cooperation agreement on culture and translation with the Embassy of Chile in Vietnam. Accordingly, they will cooperate to translate 12 books under a series named "Papelucho", written by Marcela Paz, into Vietnamese. The books, which were originally published in Chile from 1947 to 1974, will soon be introduced to Vietnamese readers.
Referred to as one of Chilean classic children's stories, Papelucho is a diary written by the main character, an 8-year-old Chilean boy named Papelucho. It is included in the Chilean primary school curriculum and has been adapted into stage performances and comics.

Nguyen Tien Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Members, General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House said the cooperation marks a milestone in the relations between the two sides. Through the project, Chile's culture will be further introduced to Vietnamese readers. It will also open the door for publishing exchanges between Vietnamese and Chilean partners in the coming time.
With the prestige and position of the Vietnam Education Publishing House and the active support of the Chilean Embassy, especially Ambassador Sergio Narea, Nguyen Tien Thanh hopes that more quality translations of Chilean books will be brought to Vietnamese children. Meanwhile, outstanding Vietnamese children's works will have the opportunity to be introduced in Chile.
Chilean Ambassador to Vietnam Sergio Narea expressed his hope that the cooperation serves as a good start for future projects between the Vietnam Education Publishing House and Chile, marking a meaningful step in cultural exchange between the two countries.
