Vietnam-Korea Family Festival in the RoK Celebrates Cultural Roots and Community Bonds

Recently, at the Hana Bank Hall in Seoul, the Vietnam Women’s Union in the RoK organized the program “Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Vietnam-Korea Family Festival” in a warm and cohesive atmosphere.

The event attracted more than 100 Vietnam-Korea families, members, and representatives of the Embassy of Vietnam in the RoK, along with several partner organizations.

The program opened with meaningful video clips and a quiz on the legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co, helping families, especially children, gain a deeper understanding of their roots.

In her opening remarks, Mai Thi Hong Ngoc, President of the Vietnam Women’s Union in the Republic of Korea, emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity and strengthening community connections. According to her, the Vietnam-Korea Family Festival 2026 provides an opportunity for families to interact and bond, while also expressing their reverence for their origins on the occasion of Hung Kings Commemoration Day, thereby contributing to the building of happy families and nurturing the younger generation.

Kim Dong-hoon, Director of the Seoul Global Center, stated that Korea–Vietnam families serve as valuable bridges between the two cultures and are exemplary representatives actively spreading the values of diversity and integration.

“The Vietnam-Korea Family Festival 2026 is not merely a cultural event, but also an important occasion to share both traditional and modern cultural values of the two countries, thereby promoting mutual understanding and exchange.”

Kim Dong-hoon expressed his confidence that the event would help strengthen bonds within families and build an increasingly cohesive community.

Within the framework of the event, the organizing committee implemented a variety of activities, including talent competitions for Vietnam-Korea families, culinary experiences, and opportunities to explore traditional Vietnamese culture, thereby contributing to the promotion of Vietnamese cultural values within the local community.
