According to the Government’s decision, the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies will take place simultaneously at 9 a.m. on August 19. The event will be broadcast live via television and online, with the central venue located at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi. Of the 250 projects, 161 will break ground and 89 will be inaugurated. These projects are expected to contribute more than 18% of the national GDP in 2025 and over 20% in the following years.

Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan stated that the 250 projects include eight national key projects, 46 classified as Group A, 155 as Group B, and 41 as Group C. The total investment capital reaches VND 1.28 quadrillion, of which VND 478 trillion (37%) comes from state funding for 129 projects. The remaining 121 projects utilize VND 802 trillion (63%) from other sources. The projects cover a wide range of sectors, including 59 in transportation infrastructure, 44 in civil–urban works, 57 in industrial facilities, and 22 in social housing.
The event highlights several landmark works. Notably, the inauguration of Vingroup’s National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, a complex architectural project with ultra-large steel structures, was completed ahead of schedule. In transportation, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge connecting Dong Thap and Vinh Long has also been inaugurated four months earlier than planned; the bridge was fully designed and built by Vietnamese contractors. Meanwhile, Viettel’s Research and Development Center, with an investment of approximately VND 10 trillion, has officially broken ground. The Nghe An Oncology Hospital, with 1,000 beds and a total investment of VND 1.259 trillion, has also been inaugurated.
The simultaneous groundbreaking and inauguration of 250 projects is seen as a symbol of solidarity, self-reliance, and resilience of the Vietnamese people. It continues the spirit of the August Revolution, reflecting the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous nation. These achievements are built on a foundation of stable macroeconomic conditions.
In the first seven months of 2025, Vietnam recorded several bright spots: the industrial production index rose 8.6%, trade surplus reached USD 10.18 billion, and inflation was kept under control. Commenting on this context, Dong He, Chief Economist of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office, said: “Reforms to improve the investment environment and infrastructure are also helping Vietnam strengthen its solid position.”
