Speaking at the ceremony, Hoang Minh Nhan, Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that in 2025, Russia and Vietnam will celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. He recalled that the people of the two countries together celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification of Vietnam, and the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
According to Nhan, over the past 75 years, the brotherly friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation have been increasingly consolidated and deepened. In recent years, bilateral relations have developed dynamically at all levels, from central to local levels of the two countries, with strategic cooperation areas such as energy, defense, personnel training, and people-to-people exchanges.
In particular, the two recent high-level visits - the official visit to Vietnam by Russian Prime Minister Mishustin Mikhail; the official visit to the Russian Federation and participation in the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War last May by General Secretary To Lam, have opened up new steps forward. The two sides have reached important breakthrough agreements, aiming to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in all areas.
According to Hoang Minh Nhan, on the basis of the good bilateral relations between the two countries, Ho Chi Minh City is developing dynamic cooperative relations with many localities and territories of Russia.
In the field of people-to-people diplomacy, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association and the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association signed the Action Cooperation Program until 2030, demonstrating the close commitment and good sentiment between the people of the two countries.
Mikhail Berkutov, Consul at the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that June 12 is a day to celebrate the Russian Motherland, honoring its centuries-old history, heritage, achievements, and victories. The occasion holds deep significance, reflecting Russia’s rich and enduring legacy.
Reflecting on the strong partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, Berkutov highlighted the warm, trustworthy relationship that has endured the test of time and historical challenges. He noted that the two nations share deep connections in history, culture, and national character, further strengthening their bond.
With a firm belief in the power of collaboration, Berkutov expressed confidence that Vietnam and Russia will continue working together to achieve their shared objectives for the well-being of their people and the promotion of peace and security in the region.
