Vietnam Tourism Sets New Record with Over 19 Million International Arrivals

In the first 11 months of 2025, the total number of international tourists to Vietnam has reached more than 19.1 million, which increased by 20.9% compared to the number of a year earlier. This number is the highest breakthrough of Vietnam, surpassing its pre-pandemic peak of more than 18 million arrivals in 2019, according to the General Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance.

In November 2025, Vietnam welcomed around 2 million international arrivals, an increase of 14.2% from October and 15.6% compared to the same month in 2024. It was the country’s third-highest month for international arrivals this year, after January and March (both of which exceeded 2 million visitors). Notably, in this month, Vietnam witnessed a surge in visitors from North America, including up 30.5% of Americans from a month earlier and 55.9% of Canadians.

European arrivals grew 51.2% from the previous month. Specifically, Russia recorded a rise of 37.0%, the UK (up 31.8%), France (up 46.7%), Germany (up 51.4%), Italy (up 88.9%), Switzerland (up 47.3%), the Czech Republic (up 148.8%), Poland (up 255.6%), and so on. The surge of tourists from North America and Europe in November reflects Vietnam’s tendency to attract international visitors in the peak season.

In the total of 11 months in 2025, Vietnam welcomed 19.15 million international arrivals, surpassing 18 million arrivals in 2019. According to the latest report from UN Tourism, this record illustrates an impressive recovery of Vietnam from COVID-19, while the Asia Pacific region has just recovered 90%. Therefore, UN Tourism rated Vietnam’s tourism to be in the highest group with Japan.

Regarding market scale, China remains Vietnam’s largest source market in November 2025, with almost 4.8 million arrivals (accounting for 25.0%). The Republic of Korea follows with more than 3.9 million tourists (accounting for 20.6%). Taiwan is in third place with 1.1 million arrivals, followed by America with 766 thousand arrivals.

In addition, Japan (754 thousand arrivals), India (656 thousand arrivals), Cambodia (614 thousand arrivals), Russia (593 thousand arrivals), Malaysia (510 thousand arrivals), and Australia (496 thousand arrivals) are Vietnam’s main source markets.

According to the General Statistics Office, in the 11 months of 2025, accommodation and food-service revenue rose 14.6% to VND767.8 trillion, accounting for 12.0% of total retail sales of goods and consumer services. Tourism revenue is estimated to be VND85.4 trillion, accounting for 1.4% of the total and growing by 19.9% ​​over the same period last year.

According to the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, these impressive results are thanks to a more favourable visa policy, marketing programs, and several significant events to attract international tourists to Vietnam.
