According to the organizers, Vietnam’s Junior and Senior teams were each announced as champions of the competition over two consecutive days. This marks Vietnam’s highest achievement at the contest to date.

On the afternoon of September 9, the Junior Division team won the Team Bowl championship. The three members were Dinh Ngoc Minh, Pham Quynh Chi, and Pham Truong Giang, all students of a private school in Hanoi. They also secured second place globally in the Challenge category.

On the afternoon of September 10, the Senior Division team, comprising Vu Ngoc Tue Lam, Hoang Trong Bao, and Tran Do Quyen, was likewise announced as the Team Bowl champion. Second place in the Challenge category went to the team of Nguyen Hoang Viet, Trinh Phan Anh, and Nguyen Ngoc Bao Phuc.

Debate, introduced in Vietnam in 2015, has become the most popular extracurricular subject in secondary and high schools over the past few years.

The Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) was held in Hanoi in May 2025, attracting more than 2,000 participants, an increase of about 1.3 times compared to the previous year.

The main categories of the competition include essay writing, debating, and general knowledge. Specifically, the contest consists of four parts divided into two halves: the skills half (Collaborative Writing and Debate) and the knowledge half (Challenge and Scholar’s Bowl, which tests general knowledge on a wide range of subjects, including music, history, fine arts, technology, geography, and socio-political issues).
