The People’s Committee of Can Tho City has issued a decision approving the non-project document for a humanitarian program providing medical and dental check-ups and treatments, scholarships, gifts, and wheelchairs for students and people with disabilities. The program is funded by Project Vietnam Foundation (PVF), a US-based organization.

On April 30, 2025, in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, the public was stunned to witness for the first time precious photos of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to the country in 1959. Carrying the wish of his father, US Navy Lieutenant Commander Walter Eugene Wilber, a former prisoner at Hoa Lo Prison, Thomas Eugene Wilber first came to Vietnam in 2014. By the end of 2023, he had returned 43 times. What began as a journey to Hoa Lo Prison from family memories grew into something greater: a path of reconciliation and the healing power of time and compassion.
