Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia raises funds for flood victims
(VNF) - The Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia on October 20 held a ceremony to raise funds for flood-hit residents in the northern mountainous and north central provinces of the home country.
Besides the attendance of staff members of the embassy, representative agencies, businesses and Vietnamese students in Cambodia, the event was attended by a working delegation of the Vietnam National Television led by its General Director Tran Binh Minh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Party Secretary of the embassy’s Party Committee Ho Van Dinh called on its officials and staff, as well as the agencies, Vietnamese enterprises and overseas students, to donate cash and necessities to assist those who are affected by natural calamities restore their livelihood.
In response to the launch, each embassy staff member donated at least one day's salary to raise funds.
Currently, overseas Vietnamese communities in provinces and cities across Cambodia are also organising fundraising activity to support their compatriots in homeland in post-disaster relief.
Continuous downpours from October 10 triggered floods and landslides in Vietnam’s northern and north central regions, causing huge losses in humans and property.
Up to 75 people were killed, 38 injured and 28 others went missing. More than 2,600 households were forced to evacuate./.
