Vietnamese Football Tournament in Kyushu Raises Funds for Victims of Natural Disasters and Floods

Vietnamese Football Tournament To Open In Kyushu Region, Japan

The tournament was organized by the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) under the auspices of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, Japan with the participation of 16 amateur football teams of Vietnamese people in the Southwest region of Japan.

The annual tournament, organized by FAVIJA across Japan, serves not only as a sporting event to promote health, but also as a vibrant platform for young Vietnamese living abroad to connect and foster community spirit. It further strengthens the bonds of affection and friendship between overseas Vietnamese and local Japanese residents.

As part of the event, the Organizing Committee placed donation boxes and launched a fundraising campaign to support compatriots in Vietnam affected by recent floods.

After a day of thrilling and competitive matches, FC SG Watch Nagata claimed the Championship Cup. FC Hai Duong Fukuoka finished as runner-up, while FC New House and FC Ha Tinh Fukuoka shared third place.

The Organizing Committee also awarded individual prizes to player Nguyen Huu Phuc from Hai Duong who won the title of top scorer. Two players from FC SG Watch Nagata, Phung Duc Hau won the title of excellent goalkeeper and Tran Van Dat received the title of excellent player.

Do Quang Ba, Chairman of FAVIJA, said that the winning teams will participate in the 2025 National Vietnamese Football Championship in Japan, scheduled to be held on November 9 in Tokyo.
