Nguyen Duy Cu, Vice President of ViLaB, said Europe has a strong foundation in technology, education, and scientific research, while Vietnam possesses advantages in its young, dynamic workforce and its ability to quickly adopt emerging technological trends. Effectively connecting these two resources would create an important synergy for the development of science and technology.

At the workshop, several experts also introduced models for applying new technologies in production and research. Jacco van der Maas, an agricultural economics expert from the Netherlands, shared experience in applying robotics in dairy farming, demonstrating the potential of automation to improve agricultural productivity.

In the field of biotechnology, Dr. Nguyen Ninh Thuan, a specialist working at BASF’s Belgium branch and a member of ViLaB, expressed a desire to promote Belgium–Vietnam cooperation in soil decontamination solutions and the development of clean agriculture. According to her, the application of advanced biotechnologies could help rehabilitate contaminated soil, increase production value, and move toward sustainable agriculture.

Participants at the workshop also proposed a number of initiatives to strengthen science and technology cooperation between Vietnam and the EU, while affirming the Vietnamese intellectual community in Europe’s strong desire to contribute actively to the country’s innovation and development process.
