It’s the fourth year running that Vietnamese Foodies’ 40 staff have received the full day’s revenue minus food costs in celebration of the Lunar New Year

Called Tet Nguyen Dan in Vietnam, Lunar New Year takes place on February 12, and Vietnamese Foodies is encouraging customers to order delivery from or dine in at its two locations in JLT and Business Bay the day before in honour of its hard-working staff.

It’s the fourth year running that Vietnamese Foodies’ 40 staff have received the full day’s revenue minus food costs in celebration of the Lunar New Year and their dedication to the job, with this year being particularly meaningful due to their efforts throughout the pandemic.

Lily Hoa Nguyen, owner and executive chef of Vietnamese Foodies, said: “The past twelve months have been difficult for so many of us and we are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful team working alongside us. They not only care about our customers but also each other. Their hard work and dedication throughout what has been a very trying year has been inspiring for me as owner and I want to ensure that this year’s Tet tradition is the best yet. We love our team and hope that our customers will share this appreciation by simply ordering from us or dining with us on February 11.”

There have been no pandemic related redundancies at the restaurants over the past 12 months, and 80 percent of staff have been given or are scheduled to have their Covid-19 vaccine shots, with the aim to have 90 percent of all staff completing the two doses by the end of March, completely voluntarily.

Customers can expect traditional Vietnamese specialities including pho and a choice of fresh salads or goi including goi du du tom (green papaya and prawn salad), signature dishes including cua lot chien com (softshell crab with young rice tempura) as well as over 17 vegan menu items.
