Vietnam’s Field Hospital in South Sudan Celebrates Vietnamese Women’s Day
The Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 5 of Vietnam in South Sudan recently held a ceremony to mark the Vietnamese Women’s Day and honored female Vietnamese peacekeepers in particular and women joining UN peacekeeping operations in general, PANO reported.
On this occasion, the hospital provided health screening for 20 servicewomen of the Mongolian Battalion of the UN Mission in South Sudan in Bentiu.

The leadership of the hospital then presented gifts to 10 Vietnamese and 20 Mongolian female peacekeepers and shared information about diseases that women often contract.
The hospital staff also introduced the country, culture, people, and history of Vietnam as well as the relations between Vietnam and Mongolia to the Mongolian peacekeepers.
The Director of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 5 proposed plans for future cooperation between the hospital and the Mongolian Battalion, focusing on health care issues, cultural, culinary, sports exchanges and coordination in other aspects of work.
The two units then held a cultural, artistic, and culinary exchange, leaving good impression on participants.

Earlier, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day March 8, the hospital has launched a week of Ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress). In particular, from March 1 to 8, Vietnamese female peacekeepers wore the Ao dai for protocol activities, and while giving examination and treatment for patients.
The week aimed to honor the beauty of the Ao dai and introduce Vietnamese cultural values to international friends.
