According to Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Can Tho and French partners have implemented many practical cooperation activities in recent years in areas such as economics, education, culture and climate change response. In 2025, Can Tho’s export turnover to the French market reached approximately 14.99 million USD, mainly including seafood, processed agricultural products, rice and garments.

In the field of infrastructure and environment, the city has received support from the French Development Agency (AFD) through the Can Tho riverbank protection project, which contributes to enhancing the city’s capacity to respond to climate change. In addition, local-level cooperation between Can Tho and the cities of Nice and La Seyne-sur-Mer has achieved positive results in the fields of culture, healthcare and education.
