Journey across Vietnam carrying millions of dreams
Beginning in Hanoi, the “German Career Truck” has traveled through 12 provinces and cities, underscoring the strong collaboration between Vietnam and Germany in education, culture, and sustainable development.
In Can Tho, the event served not only as a key milestone marking 50 years of diplomatic ties but also as a unique initiative to connect Vietnamese youth with training programs, study options, and career pathways in Germany.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep emphasized that the cooperative relationshbetween Vietnam and Germany has been constantly strengthened and developed in many fields. She assessed that the “German Career Truck” is a vivid demonstration of this spirit of cooperation, opening up many opportunities for young people in the Mekong Delta region to access high-quality vocational training programs in Germany.
She affirmed that Can Tho city is committed to continuing to create the most favorable conditions to strengthen cooperation with German partners, especially in the field of vocational training and technology transfer, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, serving the socio-economic development of the city and the region.

Dr. Le Van Lam, Vice Rector of Can Tho University, stated: “As Vietnam advances its Education Development Strategy for 2021–2030, with a vision toward 2045, the education sector places strong emphasis on cultivating high-quality human resources and promoting international integration.”
He also highlighted the fruitful collaboration between Can Tho University and German partners, noting the implementation of nearly 20 joint projects and the opportunity for over 120 university staff to study in Germany, forming a key pillar in training and research. Dr. Lam expressed confidence that the event would inspire a spirit of learning, creativity, and global engagement among the younger generation.

Golden opportunity for young Vietnamese
Andrea Sühl, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, said: This year, Germany and Vietnam celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations. Over the past half century, the two countries have cooperated closely in many fields.
According to Andrea Sühl, with the third largest economy in the world and an aging population, Germany is in great need of foreign labor. She emphasized that the goal of the bus trip with the slogan "Carrying millions of dreams" is to help young Vietnamese people realize their dreams of studying and developing their careers in Germany. She also encouraged them to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about legal, safe and effective ways to study and work in Germany.

At the event, students engaged in a variety of dynamic interactive activities, including using VR glasses to virtually explore Germany’s educational and professional landscape, sampling German cuisine featuring iconic sausages, and taking part in quizzes focused on German culture and society.
They also had the chance to gain valuable insights from esteemed organizations such as the German Academic Exchange Service in Vietnam (DAAD), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK), and representatives from Can Tho University, who shared experiences related to international cooperation programs.
The event offered both practical information and meaningful inspiration, helping young participants gain clearer direction for their future careers and preparing them to thrive in a global environment.
