Czech MP Praises Parliamentary Ties With Vietnam

At a recent working session with Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam in Prague, President of the Czech Republic-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Petra Quittova said that the parliamentary relations between the two nations were demonstrated through all-level delegation exchange and mutual support at multilateral and international forums like the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP).

Petra Quittova also expressed her impression, and assessed that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is united, has many positive activities, and makes practical contributions to the local society.
She said she would continue to contribute to the development of the friendly, traditional relationship, and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
She took the occasion to inform the Vietnamese diplomat about cultural exchange programs to be held in Prague, Brno, and Karlovy Vary in 2024. She invited the Ambassador and staff of the Vietnamese embassy to the events.
Ambassador Nam thanked MP Quittova for her sentiments and efforts in strengthening relations between the two countries' legislatures and contributing to promoting Vietnam-Czech Republic relations towards the 75th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations in 2025.
Duong Hoai Nam agreed with Quittova's assessment of the areas that the two countries have a lot of potential and room for cooperation such as education, labor, tourism, and culture.

Along with that, the Ambassador shared some information related to plans for bilateral visits to the Czech Republic by a number of Vietnamese National Assembly delegations in the second half of 2024.
He proposed that the Czech-Vietnamese Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group coordinate to promote working programs with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Czech Republic and relevant agencies.
