The collection, named “Tôi đã đến, tôi đã về nhà” (roughly translation: I have arrived, I have come home), includes 27 outfits inspired by two beautiful, talented, luxurious, elegant and famous women of the two countries, Queen Nam Phuong - the last queen of Vietnam and legendary Olympic champion Dana Zátopková. The designs in the collection are combined from Vietnamese silk and Czech linen. Through the collection, the designer hopes to connect Czech women and Vietnamese women, finding their commonalities, interests, and desires.
Speaking at the event, Hynek Kmoníček - Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Vietnam said: The theme of the show is the parallelism of traditional and modern elements. I am very proud to present the collection of designer Mimi Lan Nguyen. I don't know whether to call her Czech or Vietnamese because she is both. The performance is also the opening event for cultural exchange activities in which both Czechs and Vietnamese participate.
Designer Mimi Lan Nguyen also expressed the honor and significance of contributing to the children's support fund in Vietnam and hopes to receive more support from the guests and delegates. After the show, the collection will be auctioned and all money will be donated to the Blue Dragon Foundation - a charity organization that actively works to rescue and support the livelihoods of street children in Vietnam.
