Speaking at the opening of the fair, US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper said: “The growing number of Vietnamese students pursuing education at US universities and colleges reflects both their appreciation of these opportunities and their commitment to academic excellence. By studying in the US, Vietnamese students equip themselves with leadership skills to return home and contribute to the country’s economic development goals, particularly in high-tech sectors.”

The 2025 Fall US Education Fair brought together representatives from 60 accredited US universities and colleges, including leading research universities, liberal arts institutions, and community colleges.

Tham Thai Du, a student at Maya School, shared: “I hope to study in the United States because it offers a modern educational environment with many advanced programs that fit my career goals, especially in computer science. I believe that studying there will allow me to gain new knowledge, foster creative thinking, and develop professional skills.”

In creating opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in the United States, the country continues to uphold its commitment to the Fulbright Program - an international educational exchange initiative that supports Vietnamese scholars and professionals in pursuing academic and professional activities in the US, while also offering US citizens opportunities to study, teach, or conduct research abroad, including in Vietnam.

The US Embassy also emphasized that American educational institutions are offering a wide range of scholarships and other forms of support for Vietnamese students.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper noted that, as Vietnam - US relations continue to grow under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnamese students returning from overseas study - equipped with critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills - will form an important force contributing to Vietnam’s goal of developing a high-quality workforce, particularly in high-tech fields, STEM, computer science, and engineering. He emphasized that this will also serve as a foundation for Vietnam to advance strong and sustainable development in the future.

In the time ahead, the US Embassy aims to promote international cooperation and expand partnerships between US and Vietnamese educational institutions, while continuing to strengthen these ties through seed funding for joint STEM-related projects between universities of the two countries. Thanks to such programs, many institutions in both Vietnam and the United States have already launched new projects and student exchange activities.
