With all team members earning medals, including 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze, the Vietnamese national IOI team reaffirmed its position among the top eight countries and territories with the highest achievements at this year’s competition, ranking behind China, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Singapore, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Japan.

The 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025) took place from July 27 in Bolivia, bringing together 330 contestants from 86 countries and territories. According to IOI Council regulations, the competition includes two official exam days. On each day, contestants complete a five-hour programming test involving three highly application-oriented problems. The tests are graded online, with real-time public score updates.

The IOI 2025 exam was rated as highly challenging, consisting of six problems in six different formats. It required not only solid programming knowledge but also creativity and flexible problem-solving skills.

As the world enters the era of digital industry and artificial intelligence, the IOI continues to attract substantial investment from participating countries. The continued high performance of the Vietnamese team at this leading intellectual competition demonstrates the quality and effectiveness of Vietnam’s education sector in identifying and training gifted students.

The closing and award ceremony took place on the afternoon of August 2 (Bolivia time). Vietnam’s strong showing at IOI 2025 once again underscores the exceptional capabilities of Vietnamese students in the field of technology and programming, while also contributing to elevating the country’s education standing on the global stage.
