GNI also implements many initiatives to develop the community livelihoods. In Toan Thang commune, Phu Tho province (formerly in Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province), GNI has been supporting the establishment and operation of Gia Mo Agricultural Cooperative and Tan Son Agricultural Service Cooperative. Although these cooperatives have initially come into operation, many challenges remain in organizing, operating, and building effective business plans.
Tackling the issues, on June 29-30, GNI organized the training program “Improving the capacity of cooperative management and administration" for local cooperative members. The course focuses on providing a basic and in-depth knowledge system about the cooperative model, including organizational structure, rights and obligations of members, skills in planning and building business plans. The course members were trained effectively thanks to the method and the practical sharing.

Vu Thi Huong Hue, Director of Tan Son Agricultural Service Cooperative praised the useful and practical training days.
“We have a better understanding of cooperatives, functions, tasks and how to build a business plan. The exchanges at the course have helped us answer many problems in the operation process,” said Vu Thi Huong Hue.
Through practical programs, GNI not only provides technical or material support but also contributes to lifting the spirit of the community, for initiative, creativity and self-reliance factors are the key factors towards a sustainable development future.
