Halal Industry: New Potentials for Vietnam-Malaysia Cooperation

At the meeting, President of the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association Ngo Sach Thuc congratulated Ambassador Tan Yang Thai on Malaysia's National Day. He expressed his joy at the achievements that the Malaysian people have made in the process of building and developing the country.
He emphasized that the friendship between the people of the two countries has been increasingly strengthened, especially in recent years when the bilateral relations have developed comprehensively, with frequent high-level visits and contacts. In the first six months of this year alone, bilateral trade turnover reached nearly USD 8 billion, while Malaysia's investment in Vietnam continues to thrive.
The President of the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association affirmed that the Halal industry is a potential area of cooperation, opening up new opportunities for businesses and localities of the two countries. He hopes that in the coming time, the Association will closely coordinate with the Malaysian Embassy to organize trade promotion activities, seminars, and cultural exchanges related to Halal. He confirmed his willingness to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between localities.
Ngo Sach Thuc also said that the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association will continue to improve its organization, expand its membership, and plans to send a working delegation to Malaysia in November to expand its partner network. He hopes that the Malaysian Embassy in Vietnam will continue to closely coordinate, contributing to strengthening people-to-people relations and deepening the friendship between Vietnam and Malaysia.

Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Tan Yang Thai expressed his gratitude to the Vietnam-Malaysia Friendship Association delegation for their visit and warm congratulations on the occasion of Malaysia’s National Day. He also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Vietnamese people on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the country's Independence Day. The Ambassador conveyed his desire to see more joint activities between the two countries and voiced strong support for initiatives that promote people-to-people exchanges, not only through culture and tourism, but also through business cooperation.
He highlighted the Halal sector as a promising area for collaboration, noting that the Malaysian Embassy will coordinate a workshop on Halal in Vietnam in mid-September. He expressed hope that the Association and Vietnamese enterprises would actively participate and witness firsthand the growth of this industry.
Looking ahead, the Ambassador also expressed his wish for a more vibrant exchange of international students, contributing to connecting the two sides' youth and fostering a deeper, more sustainable Vietnam-Malaysia partnership.
