The Ambassador reviewed Vietnam’s achievements in 2025, highlighting efforts to streamline the state apparatus and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire political system, thereby creating momentum for the country to enter a new era of national advancement - an era of prosperous, civilized, and sustainable development.

According to the Ambassador, Vietnam’s GDP growth in 2025 reached 8.02 percent; the size of the economy stood at USD 514 billion, ranking 32nd globally; and GDP per capita exceeded USD 5,000, placing Vietnam among upper-middle-income countries. Vietnam has continued to maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, and firmly safeguard its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The Ambassador acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia to preserving cultural identity and nurturing younger generations with a strong sense of their roots, while affirming that overseas Vietnamese serve as an important bridge in the Vietnam-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The program atmosphere was further warmed by cultural performances, folk games, and traditional cuisine, providing young people born and raised in Malaysia with opportunities to experience Vietnam’s traditional Tet holiday.

In Vientiane, Laos, on January 30, the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese Bilingual School, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, the Vietnam Cultural Center in Laos, and the Association of Vietnamese in Vientiane, organized the Spring 2026 Culinary Festival.

Speaking at the festival, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Principal of the school, said that the event offered Lao and Vietnamese students opportunities to actively explore, practice, and experience Vietnamese culture, thereby gaining a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s cultural identity and traditional cuisine.

The festival recreated the atmosphere of traditional Tet through activities such as making bánh chưng, Tet shopping, cultural performances, áo dài presentations, and displays of handicraft products, contributing to educating younger generations about the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

On the same day, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming (China) organized the Homeland Spring Binh Ngo 2026 program for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Yunnan Province.
