On the morning of April 5, in Hanoi, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a press conference to launch a contest to design logos and posters for the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

At the media interaction, Deputy Head of the Department of Propaganda and Education of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Manh Kien said that the contest is an opportunity to propagate to many union members, workers, officials, employees, and society to be fully aware of the meaning and spirit of the Congress, thereby affirming the position and importance of the Trade Union, the contribution of the working class and the Trade Union.

The contest aims at organizations and Vietnamese citizens living and working at home and abroad. Foreigners, who are working in places where local trade unions are located, are also encouraged to participate in the contest.

Nguyen Manh Kien also referred to specific requirements for the logo and poster design contest.

Accordingly, the content of the logo should clearly show the characteristics and traditions of the Vietnam Trade Union. It can refer to the renovation of organization and operation, strong integration and adaption in the digital era of Vietnam Trade Union. The logo should also demonstrate the motto of the Congress which is "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development".

It is noted that the submitted logo is a work of art that meets the requirements of aesthetics, is easily recognizable and impressive to the public. Modernity, high generalization, and authenticity should also be conveyed in the logo. It should be convenient and suitable for copying, enlarging, reducing the application to make logos, chest badges, reliefs, carvings, emboss, etc.

Meeting the requirements of the propaganda poster, the content must show the joyful atmosphere, the optimistic spirit of Vietnamese employees and workers in all types and fields of labor emulation, production, and business activities, to welcome the Congress of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The propaganda art form should ensure bright colors and clear lines, propaganda words are short, concise and rich in meaning with tight layout.

The 13th Congress of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is expected to be held at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023 in Hanoi.
