Speaking at the donation handover ceremonies, Le Thanh Tu, Deputy Head of the Social Mobilization Board of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front said that the prolonged storms and floods since early October 2025 have affected 23 provinces and cities, from Lang Son to Lam Dong, causing severe losses in human lives, housing, and property, with total damage estimated at around VND 8 trillion. Alongside the efforts of the entire political system and people at home, overseas Vietnamese communities have upheld the tradition of mutual support and solidarity, making active material and moral contributions toward their homeland. To date, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has received nearly 85 visits by overseas Vietnamese organizations and individuals who have returned to Vietnam to directly present financial assistance and in-kind support to disaster-affected communities.

On this occasion, Le Thanh Tu also briefed overseas Vietnamese on disaster recovery efforts, including the implementation of the “Quang Trung Campaign,” carried out with urgency and determination to build new homes and repair houses damaged by natural disasters in the Central region. He expressed deep appreciation and sincere thanks to Vietnamese communities in France, Poland, and the Republic of Korea in particular, and overseas Vietnamese communities in general, for their continued trust and companionship with the Vietnam Fatherland Front in social welfare work, affirming that the management and use of all support funds would be carried out for the right purposes, in an open, transparent, and effective manner.
