According to the organizing committee, this year’s contest attracted nearly 100 entries from 16 prefectures and cities across Japan, spanning a wide range of age groups from 3 to 22 years old. Among them, primary school students accounted for the highest proportion, demonstrating the contest’s strong outreach to the youngest generation - the future pillars of the overseas Vietnamese community. Drawing was the most popular category, followed by singing, poetry recitation, and storytelling, reflecting the diversity of ways in which the children expressed their affection for Uncle Ho.

Many entries were highly appreciated by the judging panel for their serious investment and creativity in both content and presentation. The colorful drawings vividly portrayed the image of Uncle Ho as simple and approachable alongside children; the songs, poems, and stories conveyed pure and sincere emotions. Notably, many works skillfully connected images of the Vietnamese homeland with the children’s present lives in Japan, reflecting an awareness of preserving their roots despite living far from the motherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister-Counsellor Nguyen Sau emphasized that 2025 marks a year of many significant events associated with President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people. The contest was not only an artistic activity for children but also carried profound educational significance, contributing to the nurturing of the soul, character, and civic awareness of young Vietnamese overseas. He expressed his deep emotion at the pure affection, national pride, and strong sense of attachment to the homeland reflected in each submitted work.

The Special Prize was awarded to Trinh Anh Tu (7 years old, Aichi), for the drawing titled “Uncle Ho and the Vietnamese young generation on foreign soil.” In addition to cash prizes, the organizers also presented two round-trip air tickets between Japan and Vietnam, symbolizing spiritual connection and providing opportunities for the children and their families to return and visit their homeland.

The year 2025 features many major events related to President Ho Chi Minh. The contest was organized to help children gain a deeper understanding of his ideology, morality, and lifestyle; at the same time, fostering love for the homeland, national pride, and encouraging them to express their artistic talents through four categories: Storytelling - drawing - singing - poetry recitation.

The contest also serves as a cultural bridge between Vietnam and Japan, providing an opportunity for children born and raised abroad to connect with their roots and continue preserving the Vietnamese language and culture.

Entries were submitted from 16 prefectures and cities across Japan, with drawing attracting the largest number of participants, reflecting the children’s sense of closeness and freedom of creative expression; meanwhile, the singing and poetry recitation categories left a deep emotional impression through the children’s affection for Uncle Ho.
