Speaking at the event, Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Permanent Representative of Vietnam in Geneva, emphasized that President Ho Chi Minh is a great symbol of the Vietnamese nation and, at the same time, a figure with far-reaching global influence thanks to his progressive and humanistic ideology devoted to peace, independence and human happiness. According to the Ambassador, spreading the Ho Chi Minh legacy abroad not only contributes to educating traditions for younger generations of Vietnamese living far from the homeland, but also helps international friends gain a clearer understanding of the history, culture and development path of Viet Nam.

At the seminar, Dr Chu Duc Tinh, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, shared many profound perspectives on the ideology, ethics and style of President Ho Chi Minh, highlighting the special power of his moral influence, which stemmed from his simple and approachable lifestyle and his consistent ideals devoted to national independence and the happiness of the people. These values have transcended national boundaries and have been respected and recognized by the international community, including UNESCO’s honoring of President Ho Chi Minh as a National Liberation Hero and a Great Man of Culture of Viet Nam.

The program was organized in conjunction with exhibitions of books, photographs and documents, as well as the screening of documentary films on the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, creating a meaningful cultural and spiritual space that helped overseas Vietnamese revisit historical memories and express their affection and pride toward their homeland and country.

The event took place in the context of the Vietnam Mission in Geneva intensifying cultural and diplomatic activities to promote the image of the country and the Vietnamese people, while strengthening ties within the local Vietnamese community. Through these efforts, it contributes to more widely spreading the values of the Ho Chi Minh legacy and building an image of Viet Nam as a peaceful, humanistic country that actively integrates and acts responsibly within the international community.
