Screenings of films about President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary journey, “return-to-the-roots” excursions, documentary exhibitions, and sports festivals continuing the spirit of physical training… these are among the meaningful activities organized by the Vietnamese communities in Thailand, Laos, the Republic of Korea, and China to mark the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (19 May 1890 - 19 May 2026).

A football tournament for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in the Kansai region took place on May 17 at the Kashihara Sports Complex in the ancient capital city of Nara, Japan.

The launch ceremony for the Vietnamese language proficiency test and the announcement of the establishment of the Vietnamese Proficiency Examination Council in Japan took place on May 17 at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, Japan. The event marked the first time a Vietnamese language proficiency test based on Vietnam’s national standards has been organized overseas.

On May 17, at the Higashihiroshima City General Welfare Center in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, in coordination with the Vietnamese Association in Central and Southern Japan, the Hiroshima-Vietnam Peace and Friendship Association, and the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Hiroshima, organized a program commemorating the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh under the theme “Diplomatic thought and contemporary values.”
