Training Course on Teaching Vietnamese for Overseas Vietnamese Teachers
In addition, a training course on teaching Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese teachers is scheduled to take place from August 13 to 28 in Hanoi and several nearby localities. The program will gather 80 trainees from 15 countries and territories.
According to Nguyen Trung Kien, the course aims to improve the quality of teaching, enhance professional expertise, and strengthen pedagogical skills for overseas Vietnamese teachers in teaching the Vietnamese language using curricula specifically designed for overseas Vietnamese learners.
Series of Activities for the Vietnamese Language Appreciation Day in the Overseas Vietnamese Community
The awards ceremony for the “Search for Vietnamese Language Ambassadors Abroad” contest is expected to be held on August 21 in Hanoi, in conjunction with the “Beloved Vietnamese Gala” program.
Nguyen Trung Kien stated that the contest had received more than 50 entries with diverse and rich content, reflecting the deep love for the Vietnamese language as well as the pride in the homeland and country of overseas Vietnamese around the world. Many entries were carefully crafted and creatively presented, ranging from prose and poetry to formats incorporating images and video illustrations, leaving a strong emotional impact and impression on the judging panel. A number of contestants also linked their entries with community activities, demonstrating their sense of responsibility and aspiration to promote the Vietnamese language to international friends.
Emphasizing the role of the Vietnamese Language Ambassadors, Chairman Nguyen Trung Kien noted that these ambassadors abroad are not only exemplary individuals in using, preserving, and promoting the Vietnamese language within the overseas community but also cultural bridges, contributing to the promotion of Vietnam’s image and people to the world. Within their communities, the ambassadors have organized Vietnamese language activities to inspire a love for the language among the younger generations of overseas Vietnamese.
In addition, the Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Vietnamese Language Appreciation Day in the Overseas Vietnamese Community is scheduled to take place on August 14 in Hanoi, in a hybrid format combining in-person and online participation. The ceremony will focus on reviewing the outcomes of activities held in response to the 2024–2025 Vietnamese Language Appreciation Day, as well as discussing and proposing directions for future implementation.
Notably, the Beloved Vietnamese Gala and the Awards Ceremony for the “Search for Vietnamese Language Ambassadors Abroad” contest are set to be held on August 21 under the theme “The Ever-Flowing River Connecting All Directions.”
Honoring and promoting the Vietnamese language, the theme “The Ever-Flowing River Connecting All Directions” evokes the image of Vietnamese as a steadfast current of the nation’s history, culture, and soul, continuously spreading across space and time. The event aims to celebrate the beauty of the Vietnamese language while promoting it to overseas Vietnamese communities around the globe as a sacred symbol linking the roots of the past with the promise of the future.
Training Course for Leaders of Overseas Vietnamese Associations
Regarding the 2025 Training Course for Leaders of Overseas Vietnamese Associations, scheduled to take place from March 28 to 31 in Hanoi, the Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs stated that the program reflects the attention of the Party and State to overseas Vietnamese affairs, as well as the consistent policy on great national unity as affirmed in Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW: “Overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of and a resource for the Vietnamese national community.”
Within the program, participants will receive information on the domestic situation and the country’s foreign policy; the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs; the overseas Vietnamese community and associations, and their connections with the homeland; as well as legal matters in Vietnam and in host countries. The course aims to strengthen the bonds between overseas Vietnamese and the homeland, enabling association leaders to witness the country’s development firsthand, thereby becoming active communicators within their communities, spreading accurate and objective information about the country to fellow overseas Vietnamese. The program will be arranged to coincide with significant and meaningful events taking place in Vietnam.
