Truong Sa is not merely a forward outpost for national defense and security - it stands also as a vivid testament to the Party’s sound policies and strategic vision in the cause of building and safeguarding the Fatherland in the new era. Under the Party’s direct and absolute leadership in all aspects, Truong Sa has been transforming day by day: infrastructure has been invested in, the material and spiritual lives of the military and civilians have steadily improved, and the posture of people’s national defense, closely linked with people’s security, has been firmly consolidated.

Colonel Pham Van Tho, Political Commissar of Brigade 146, Region 4 of the Navy, emphasized: “For the officers and soldiers of Brigade 146, protecting maritime sovereignty is not only a political task but also a command from the heart. Looking toward the 14th National Congress of the Party, the entire Brigade will continue to promote the study and understanding of the Party’s resolutions, strengthen political resolve, and remain ready to accept and excellently fulfill all tasks in every situation.”
That spirit permeates every island and every officer and soldier. Despite the harsh climate and distance from the mainland, officers on the islands consistently play a leading role - fostering internal unity, maintaining close ties with troops and civilians, and turning Party resolutions into concrete, practical actions.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huy Phung, Political Officer of Truong Sa Island, Brigade 146, stated: “Every Party resolution and major policy is thoroughly understood and implemented in practice on the island. Looking toward the 14th Party Congress, officers here clearly define their responsibility to set an example, maintain discipline and order, and build a strong, comprehensive unit, ensuring that Truong Sa will always stand as a solid support at the forefront of the waves.”
Corporal Pham Quoc Cong, a 14.5mm machine gunner on Nam Yet Island, confided: “We closely follow information about the 14th National Congress of the Party with great faith and expectations. As the younger generation, we pledge to continuously study, train, and improve our skills and capabilities, ready to undertake difficult and arduous tasks, firmly protecting every inch of our islands and seas.”

Truong Sa today is not only defended by the military but also sustained by resilient civilians who cling to the islands and seas, working, producing, and building lives in the middle of the ocean. Their presence is living proof of the strength of the “people’s hearts and minds” on the front lines of the Fatherland.
Le Van Linh, a resident of Da Tay Island, shared emotionally: “We have absolute faith in the leadership of the Party and the State. The 14th National Congress of the Party is a great expectation, so that the country can continue to develop, the islands and seas will receive more attention and investment, and the people of Truong Sa can live in peace and remain committed to the island long-term.”
From Truong Sa to the mainland, and from the mainland to Truong Sa, there exists a strong bond between the Party’s will and the people’s hearts, between the great rear and the steadfast front line. Looking toward the 14th National Congress, the military and people of Truong Sa are striving in training, working, and combat readiness, determined to uphold sovereignty and build the archipelago into one that is “strong in defense, good in lifestyle, beautiful in environment, and exemplary in military-civilian solidarity.”
