Anticipating the surge in travel demand, Lam Dong has actively prepared the necessary conditions and launched a wide range of cultural, artistic, entertainment, and tourism promotion activities to welcome both domestic and international visitors. These efforts aim to strengthen Lam Dong’s image as an attractive and vibrant destination during the New Year period.
A centerpiece of the celebrations is the large-scale “Countdown – Welcoming the New Year 2026” program, organized by the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the evening of December 31. The event will take place simultaneously at three venues: Lam Vien Square in Da Lat, the area surrounding the Provincial Theater and Cultural and Artistic Exhibition Center in Phan Thiet ward, and Nam Gia Nghia ward in western Lam Dong.
The program will feature a diverse lineup of artistic performances, high-tech light shows, 3D LED displays, dynamic DJ sets, live music by singers and bands, artistic fireworks, and the official New Year countdown.

Additionally, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in collaboration with other units, will host a special program to welcome the first tourists of 2026. Visitors will receive gifts and New Year greetings, symbolizing the province’s hospitality and its aspiration to make Lam Dong tourism a destination of memorable experiences at the start of the year.
During this year’s holiday, Lam Dong’s coastal tourism route remains a popular choice. Accommodation facilities and resorts in Ham Tien ward and Mui Ne have reported high occupancy rates, with some reaching 70–90% on January 2 and 3. Families, groups of friends, and individual travelers using private vehicles are expected to form the majority of visitors.
Alongside international tourists, domestic travelers are primarily from southern provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh. Service and accommodation prices are forecast to rise by 10–50%, while seafood prices will increase seasonally. To attract visitors, many businesses have planned festive activities beginning in late December 2025, including beachside tea and cocktail parties, light and music festivals, year-end gatherings, and mini countdown events tailored especially for international guests.
To ensure the effective reception and service of tourists, as well as safety and quality during the 2026 New Year and Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province has issued a directive requesting localities and relevant units to coordinate the implementation of key tasks.
Accordingly, the Department has instructed the People’s Committees of communes, wards, and the Phu Quy Special Economic Zone to strengthen communication and guidance for tourism businesses, ensuring adequate facilities, sufficient personnel, and improved service quality for visitors during the Tet holiday. Localities are required to proactively review the operations of tourist sites, attractions, accommodation facilities, and related services. Close coordination is emphasized to maintain security and order, traffic safety, environmental hygiene, market management, and the regulation of accommodation prices.
For tourism service providers and business units, the overarching requirement is strict compliance with legal regulations on tourism operations, assurance of service quality, respect for customer rights, and adherence to principles of fair competition.
Units are tasked with organizing decorations, banners, and slogans to welcome Tet, ensuring both safety and aesthetics. They are also encouraged to promote demand-stimulating activities, diversify products, and develop cultural, sports, and tourism programs that reflect the distinctive spirit of the Lunar New Year. Tourist safety remains a top priority, covering fire prevention and control, environmental protection, food safety, public order, and traffic safety.
The Management Boards of Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area, Bidoup Nui Ba National Park, Ta Dung National Park, and other attractions will strengthen safety measures in high-risk areas such as lakes, waterfalls, rivers, and streams. Tourism business activities will be strictly monitored, particularly programs that may affect the health and safety of visitors. Regulations on the management of tour guides, foreign tour groups, and the preservation of cultural values and national traditions will be rigorously enforced.
Accommodation establishments and travel businesses are required to register operations, improve staff quality, enhance security and safety measures, and fully comply with legal regulations. Travel companies are encouraged to strengthen tour and route linkages, capitalize on domestic and international tourism seasons, and enhance visitor experiences to increase spending.
By 2025, Lam Dong province is projected to welcome over 20.7 million tourists - an 18% increase compared to 2024, achieving 106% of the annual plan. International arrivals are expected to reach approximately 1.28 million, up nearly 40%. Tourism revenue is estimated at around VND 56,800 billion, representing a 24.5% increase.
