In addition, Phu Quoc Island - known as the “Pearl Island” - claimed the top position on the list of Asia’s most beautiful islands in this year’s awards.
Why Do Travelers Choose Vietnam?
Vietnam surpassed numerous renowned destinations to make it into the global top 10. In the “World’s Friendliest Countries” category, Vietnam ranked 6th with a score of 97.27, while in the “World’s Best Destinations” category, it placed 9th with 94.29 points.
“Endless rice fields, ancient towns, and emerald-green bays - few places on Earth possess the same diversity and distinctive beauty as Vietnam. What makes it truly special is the warmth of its people, always eager to share the wonders of their homeland with visitors,” wrote Condé Nast Traveler.

Over the years, Vietnam’s unique charm and rich cultural identity have consistently earned it a spot among travelers’ favorite destinations. In 2024 alone, the country welcomed nearly 18 million international visitors, a number that continues to grow annually as more travelers seek out Vietnam for its blend of mystery, traditional culture, and unspoiled natural landscapes. The continuous expansion of new flight routes has also made it easier for international visitors to access Vietnam’s emerging destinations, connecting travelers with both major cities and remote gems across the country.
According to Condé Nast Traveler, what makes Vietnam truly captivating is its strong sense of community - from street vendors and early-morning exercise groups in bustling cities to roadside barbers and cozy homestays nestled deep in mountain villages. A trip to Vietnam would not be complete without venturing through the breathtaking mountain passes of Ha Giang (now part of Tuyen Quang Province), where winding roads reveal magnificent landscapes. Yet, beyond the scenery, what lingers most in travelers’ memories is the warmth and hospitality of the local people.
Phu Quoc: Asia’s Most Beautiful Island
At the “Top Islands: Readers’ Choice Awards 2025”, Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island was named Asia’s Most Beautiful Island, earning an impressive 95.51 points from readers. Phu Quoc outperformed several well-known beach destinations, surpassing Langkawi (Malaysia - 92.99 points), Koh Samui (Thailand - 92.7), Boracay (Philippines - 90.54), and the Andaman Islands (India - 85.33).

Visitors can indulge in luxurious experiences while still feeling immersed in the pristine beauty of nature.
With its outstanding natural and cultural appeal, Phu Quoc is establishing itself as one of Asia’s leading tourism centers.
